What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is the bringing together of our conscious and subconscious minds into a trance state. It is a safe, powerful technique which creates a deeply relaxed state of our minds, bodies and emotions. Trance is a perfectly natural state that we often find ourselves in during our everyday lives i.e whilst reading a book, watching television, or doing repeated tasks.

During the session I will guide you into a relaxed trance state by using the sound of my voice. Trance is not sleep, but deep focused relaxation. This is hugely beneficial, as your brain is not only at its optimum resting point, but also at its optimum productivity.

In this relaxed state, the subconscious mind accepts suggestions which promote and reinforce positive messages. As a result, all suggestions which are positive and solution focused will be taken on board. See Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

Is Hypnotherapy safe?

No-one can be hypnotised against their will. Even when in trance, people can still reject any of the suggestions given if they are not appropriate.

Will I reveal personal secrets whilst in Hypnosis?

No. Hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis. You are always in full control of all you say and do.

How many Hypnotherapy sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required varies.

Phobias usually take 4 sessions. Other issues are largely dependent upon the client and the presenting issue.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is generally a rapid psychological approach compared with other forms of psychotherapy and many clients notice significant changes after 3-6 sessions.

Does Online Hypnotherapy work?

Online hypnotherapy is just as effective as face-to-face sessions and takes exactly the same format. When you work with Spark Hypnotherapy online, there’s no travel involved, and it takes place in an environment that is convenient for you, and you don’t have to interrupt your working day.

I’ve worked with clients in their offices, boardrooms, cars, bedrooms, on film sets… you name it. You just need a good Internet connection, and we can work together from anywhere. A laptop helps but lots of clients use their mobile phones or tablets. All you need is a quiet place, with no distractions, where you can feel relaxed and comfortable. You can leave the rest to me.
